ABOUT ME

I am 41, married for 21 years to my high school sweetheart. We have 3 teens, 13, 15, and 17. They all attend a private Christian school that I have worked at for the last 11 years. I resigned this year for health reasons, and am looking for a less stressful job. I am a born and bred southerner. I’ve lived in Texas, Tennessee and have now made South Carolina my home for 18 years.

Unfortunately, I suffer from FM, OA, Severe Migraines, and major fibro fog!

OTHER TIDBITS

I spend most of my time keeping up with my kids. I am constantly going to Cross Country meets, Basketball games (to see my daughter cheer), soccer games, etc. But I also sit on the board of the Spartanburg Chapter of The National League Of Junior Cotillion, my children have all been involved with it in the past, but this year it will just be my daughter (the boys think they are too old for it). I also love to cook, read, and crochet.

I’m married, have 2 grown girls. Hubby has 2 grown boys and a grown daughter. I watched the two girls my oldest gave birth to be born…helped deliver Kellie-Ann even. Hubby has 8 grands, we were there but didnt watch. So we really have 5 kids n 10 grands.

I hate listing out my health problems, I prefer to simply say I have fibro and most of the related things that go with it, it doesnt seem as depressing. I’ve had surgeries and therapies n meds etc etc etc.

About a year ago my Hubby n I bought this home made log cabin in Maine. Everybody else wanted to tear it down. You couldnt really even get to it, lots of ledges sticking up in the driveway, trees down across the long driveway, broken down fallen over bldgs on the way…

The cabin had 5 acres way in the woods. Unfortunately the “yard” had been used as their actual dump for 40 years! Appliances bedding trash dead animals etc etc Ugh! There was a rickety door w trash bags for windows. The smell about knocked you out from outside. There was wet insulation hanging as ceilings, framed walls w sheets n blankets for privacy, an unfinished floor soaked through w cat urine…one hole we saw whiskers poke out through. There was 1 hanging bulb but thered been no electric for 3 yrs. There was no plumbing, what little there was had burst, the kitchen had a cardboard counter and an old flopsy faucet. The only heat was 2 wood stoves she was keeping. The spaces between the logs had baby clothes, slippers, unfinished insulation, table cloths and blankets between them to keep out the cold. We viewed the cabin w flashlights and still couldnt see a thing. The foundation was good and the logs were seasoned n settled. Some broken windows and the side walls werent finished. The stairs had like a ceiling over them that made what we called a superslide(like at the fair) in the upstairs there was no wall there, just a superslide w stairs under it. Evil n druggie things were written all over the walls upstairs. Piles n piles of stuff everywhere, had to walk through sideways. I wanted a place that needed me as much as I needed to be needed so we bought it.

Even w fibro etc I loved cleaning and fixing it up. Its not done. We did most of the work ourselves, actually I did more than my share but I love it. Before n after, thats me.
We filled our cabin w up to 5 cats and a dog and fish and plan to have goats, chickens, bunnies n hopefully a horse or two. We have wild turkeys walk into the kitchen, more than 20 bird feeders.

I watch my Kellie-Ann so her Mom can work, but not this winter so I’m suffering empty nest too. I watch most of the grands on the weekends.

I got disability about in 2000? Lost all sense of being a needed person. FT helped change that, I get to talk to ppl who understand. Ppl jump right up to help each other, and sometimes I can still help somebody!

I like the long intros the best so my profiles long too lol. Soul also added a link to my 360 page, everybody’s welcome.

I live in a small town in Michigan. I have three grown sons and only one lives close, about 2 hrs away. My 5 grandkids live out of state so I don’t get to see them often. I do have other family that lives here. This is where I grew up so when I got a divorce several years ago I moved back here and finished raising the boys here as a single mom.

I think I started with Fibro when I was in my early 30’s. I remember of just aching all over 24/7 for 3 or 4 months and had no idea what it was and until I started seeking medical help 5 yrs ago due to so much pain in my lower back, hips, legs etc and was referred to a specialist for steroid injections for the Chronic SI joint pain. I then was DX’d with Fibro, Chronic Myofascial Pain, Chronic SI joint Inflammation and Post Polio Syndrome. My belief is that in my case the bout I had with polio may be at the root of this. I have read in several places that anyone who had polio that it was very common for them to develop Fibro and that PPS symptoms are very similar to the symptoms of the fatigue of CFS.

I worked at a credit union for over 22 yrs and then by the grace of God I was able to retire early. Now I live alone with my small dog, Sachi, and it is so nice not to have all the job stress and to put on the “I feel fine act.”

I love to do putsy stuff around the house. I’m always finding ways to improvise and make things fit in with the rest of the deco. I sew and have done some painting ceramics, I like to listen to classical crossover music. I’ve always called myself a wannabe artist and would love to be able to paint. Right now I’m considering taking a wat ercolor class I found on the net. I Spend a fair amount of time surfing the net or playing a few games. I baby sit my 2 great nieces part time. Other than that for the most part my life is pretty quiet and low key.

This is where your text would go for your profile.

You could also add photographs.

Here is the recommended format for your PROFILE page:

1. Photo (if you want)

2. Info: info about you that you wish to let others know. (no character limit)

3. Miscellaneous - anything else, including links to your websites or businesses (if any)

THEN email it to Fibrotalk@gmail.com and we’ll make your page here! If you need any help, just email us.

ABOUT ME
Hmmm, about me, well, there’s a lot to tell and not a lot of room. Lets see, this is me, this is who I am. I hope to tell the tale of someone with Fibromyalgia and Bipolar in a way that people who don’t have it can understand, that’s the goal anyway, and of course if i make people laugh along the way, that’s always a plus. My complete story can be found on my personal web-site called WannaBeNormal.com
